Today’s SF punk band o’ the day brought to you by Tecate beer and Wrigley’s Spearmint Gum
The Band
I first heard Code of Honor while getting a relaxing pedicure at the local nail salon. I had a nasty case of toenail fungus, and the nail tech was getting PISSED trying to file it down. She eventually got so frustrated, she stood up and stormed off into the back.
The next thing I knew, this song was playing on their kickin stereo:
Code of Honor - Stolen Faith (click link to listen to song!)
Even today, when I smell acetone I have flashbacks to her singing ~I won’t fight in a war manufactured by the weapons state~
(It’s amazing how relevant those lyrics are almost 30 years later.)
That day was oh-so-bittersweet. Not only did I gain a new respect for my nail tech, but I also had a toenail filed completely down to the skin. There was nothing left, and even to this day I have this fucking toenail-less toe.
Sadly, Jonithin Christ passed away last Thursday, March 5th 2009.
